The Society of Scent is a collaborative project with Jean-Claude Delville as the perfumer, but working with other perfumers as well, like Mandy Aftel, Nathalie Feisthauer and Jean-Pierre Bethouart.

It's very important that we communicate eye to eye with the consumers. We spoke with the two founders of the project: Frederic Jacques and Jean-Claude Delville, who, in conversation, set the manifesto for this small revolution.

Frederic: I am sure there was a certain level of frustration, but it goes beyond that. Of course, perfumery is not pure art, just to display in a gallery. We have a vision, we know where we want to go and for me as a perfumer, it's a renaissance. With regard to silliage, it’s a deceptive fragrance, seeming to oscillate from a skin scent to a heavy scent and then back again. Together they combine knowledge on perfume composition, evaluation, managing and creative direction. Not being close to something that already exists is our obsession, but it's also very difficult.

But I think there is more than just one type of consumer.
