This book is the second series of Divergent, and it is really awesome and stimulate! Tris hangs out with other ally-Dauntless members who are staying at the Candor compound. This inspires them to give peace to others, they say. Korean-American Lara Jean is finally settled into a nice, complication-free relationship with her white boyfriend, Peter. I thought this made the opening of Insurgent better because it let the storyline of Insurgent establish itself without having to spend time recapping what had happened previously. Several members of the enemy-Dauntless are shot to death by the ally-Dauntless, who are living in the Candor compound. But when ever it seems like they have solved one thing another problem arrives. Unlike Tris, most Divergent people are unable to join a faction because they cannot embrace only one way of behaving and only one way of viewing the world. Dangerous scraps and bits about family, love, and creation fly as Tris throws herself into the middle of the action. I recently read and reviewed the first novel, Divergent, and felt compelled to pick up the second book in the series. It earns a half-star higher review from me because Roth really comes into her own here; unlike her first book, no one could accuse Insurgent of being a The Hunger Games wannabe.
