Karrion Kross couldn’t have picked a bigger fish in NXT than Tommaso Ciampa. After the WWE NXT TakeOver XXX PPV went off-air, WWE announced that newly crowned NXT Champion Karrion Kross suffered a severe shoulder injury while fighting Keith Lee at the PPV and it might affect his first NXT title run. Ciampa passed out in the hold, giving Kross his first TakeOver victory.
However, he made his return on this week’s episode and was seen embracing his old psychotic persona as he went up against Jake Atlas. After promising to bring doom to the black-and-gold brand, Kross & Scarlett made Ciampa their first target with a brutal ambush. Karrion Kross confirmed that he indeed separated his shoulder while fighting Lee, and even though he loves pain, he knows that he has to give up the NXT Championship. Kross tossed Ciampa around the ring with ease, driving him into the canvas with a series of suplexes that echoed through the arena.
